The team’s dedication toward constant improvement in the short amount of time available since Providence really showed up during the Boston District Event. They showed off enough of their riches to earn themselves selection by the Alliance 1 captain team, Team #1058, the PVC Pirates from Londonderry, NH. The two teams patiently waited for their second pick to come around during the draft, and when the time for their pick finally rolled around, they invited Team #5969, the English Skunkworks from Jamica Plain, MA to be their alliance partner. As the first elimination match came to a close, the English Skunkworks team experienced an electrical problem and had to drop out of the competition, opening the way for backup Team #5563, Phalanx from Lynn, MA to join the strong alliance.

It was an exciting run through the elimination rounds with Phalanx breaching its way through the opposing alliance’s defenses, while the PVC Pirates focused on fast-turnaround low goals and the RoboChiefs focused on fast-turnaround high goals. The PVC Pirates and RoboChiefs demonstrated their tower climbing ability over and over again as the scores also climbed higher and higher from match to match. Capping off an exciting series of matches, the RoboChiefs raised the bar even higher by successfully landing slam dunks in the final moments of two of our finals matches.
