Team #1768 is selected as the proud winner of the very prestigious Quality Award sponsored by Motorola Solutions Foundation from a field of 65 teams participating at the New England District Championship held in Hartford, CT during April 13-16th, 2016. As the winner of this award, Team #1768 is recognized as the standout in these categories:

• The entire team demonstrates robustness and quality: workmanship, welds, joints, wiring, paint, pit area, tools, control panel, cart, etc.
• The machine can withstand the rigors of competition – maintaining functionality, including the use of designed-in redundancy, fail-safety etc. that may mitigate failures in competition to gain other advantages (e.g. weight).
• Workmanship is valued and planned in both the machine and support equipment.
  Building the machine contributes to the team’s success in FIRST – not just in performance on the field of competition.
• Execution is superb; the machine was built with a detailed plan in mind.

The announcement restored confidence in the team following a disappointing elimination during the semi-final round. Nevertheless, the team’s performance throughout the season combined with the quarterfinal and Quality Award wins catapults the team into its top ten ranking in the New England District, handily earning an invitation to the Globals competition in St. Louis.
